Just us Girls

My sister Aileen came to town for a girls weekend, no kids.
Lots of shopping food and non stop laughter. The only thing that would have
made it more fun would be my sister Katie.
Are we the only ones that seem to revolve our fun around food?
We had:
So Cupcake
Kneaders
Setebellos (Authentic Italy Pizza)
Fresh Brigham City peaches
Village Baker sandwiches
chocolate caramel pretzels
chocolate Dunford donuts
We managed to shop too: Roberts, Bath & Body, Home Again, Black Goose,
TJ Maxx/ Home Goods, EmilyJane, Hip and Humble, Anthropologie, Target.

My personal favorite moments from the weekend that I want to remember:

Put the donuts in the trunk!, Dawn- leave the shirt hanging to the Target employees, SLN on PBS, Dawn screaming bloody murder when a cupcake started to fall (everyone in Setebello's heard that one). Am I missing any girls?

When you have out of town visitors where are your must go places and do you love to eat when you get together like we obviously do, what are your favorite local treats?

Grandma Susan's Halloween

Anyone who has been to my moms house knows of her incredible talent for decorating. Her halloween house is awesome and I wanted to share it. She throws the best halloween party for her grandchildren that live near. They look forward to it all month and love to come see her house all festive. You will love it too.

I found this cute book at Anthropologie, I love(d) it.

I must have skipped the chapter on respecting property when I read it to Ava:

It's true,

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to MY angel mother.

Happy Birthday Mom!
Spoiled, make it your mission today. And every day.

Mom and Me, May 1977
Feel free to leave her a birthday wish in the comments here.

What's for dessert?

Let's call it:
Create your own waffle cake banana split dessert bar

(Don't forget the ice cream and whipped cream)
(Also, don't forget to run and extra mile or two the next day)

Love is . . .

missing someone whenever you're apart,
but somehow feeling warm inside
because you're close in heart.
This is my favorite decoration in my mom's home, she has said it is one thing she would save in a fire. This collection of heart rocks is from my dad. Whenever he went camping or outdoors he would find a heart rock and give it to my mom. Every once in a while she or a grandchild find one and it is a reminder to me that he is still with us, I am pretty sure he has something to do with them finding a new heart for her collection.

How to throw a FANCY party:

Step 1: Start with a fancy girl about to turn 6.

Step 2: Send out your fanciest invites to all your friends.
Step 3: Hand make an apron for each guest, using the fanciest coordinating
fabrics you can find, use ric rac, ribbon and all sorts of fancy trim and stitching.
Step 4: Gather all your fancy books, candy, ribbon and
balloons and arrange then perfectly for the centerpiece
Step 5: Invite lots of fancy girls and have them make their lunch
(complete with pink, red and purple bread for the sandwiches)
while wearing the fancy aprons you made.

Step 6: Make giant cupcakes with to-die-for buttercream,

add lots of sprinkles, ribbon, diamond rings and butterflies,

all glittery and fancy, of course.

Step 7: Let the girls eat have their cake AND eat it too!

Step 8: You can't have a fancy party without PARFAITS! Step 9: Make sure your name is Dawn or at least have some of her talents,

which include, but are not limited to:

Designer, Pastry Chef, Cake Decorator extraordinaire, Seamstress and party planner

Dancing queens

London, Katie and Julia

Today's saving

Before coupons and sales: $195.47
I paid: $31.50
for 53 items!

If you aren't shopping with coupons, it is time to start!

Are you ready . . .

for Some Football?
Between flag football, going to BYU games, and fantasy football
my boys are rather preoccupied for the season . . .
I guess I'll go shopping with the girls,
except when James is playing, then I'll be front and
center to cheer him on.

While James is busy being a football hero, his sisters are busy on the playground and feeding horses (the babies try to feed them a single blade of grass)

Enjoy Anthropologie and Pinkberry to their fullest.

She is SO fun, VERY funny, the BEST mother and SUPER generous!

Deja Vu

The 2nd 1st day of preschool. Ava and Addie thought they were going with her.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

So it begins. . .

her first, 1st day of preschool.
You see, tomorrow is her second 1st day of preschool.
Don't ask.
(And please don't tell her dad he is paying tuition for two schools. )

I am sorry . . .

this is not scratch and sniff.

I am certain it is what Heaven will smell like,

freshly bathed babies smothered in

Baby Magic all cozy and happy.
