We had a fire today in our house
And you will NEVER guess who started it:
I felt like I deserved a three minute shower after running 3.5 miles. (was I wrong?) I made sure the trouble makers had crackers of all sorts, string cheese, apple juice and toys galore to keep them busy. A couple of minutes into my shower my eight year old, James came running into my bathroom yelling FIRE, FIRE, there is a fire! I grabbed my towel and went running into the kitchen to see my microwave full of flames. (I am not exaggerating, FULL of flames) They had decided to warm up a wrapped cookie in the microwave. There was SO much smoke, I could hardly see across the room. I spent the next HOUR scrubbing my microwave only to find out the microwave no longer works. Those two precious, tiny, cute, adorable little twins managed to destroy a microwave.
My house smells so bad I can hardly stand it. Any ideas of how to get rid of the smoke smell? It is so overwhelming, every candle and spray I own is not helping the least bit. Here is a photo of their little cookie creation that cost us $500.00. It started out all wrapped in a plastic packaging.
Notice there is another cookie on the stove waiting to be warmed

Good Stuff
I thought I would share three of my current favorite things, I hope you like them too!
First Up, do you know Bakerella? If not, get to know her. She is super talented and makes the cutest stuff for every holiday and her pictures make me happy. I once make her banana pudding dessert and it is DE-LISH! (click here for the recipe) My sister-in-law made her pumpkin pecan chocolate chunk cookies with browned butter frosting, also to-die-for! (click here for that recipe) She blogged about these cookie brownies and I have been wanting to make them ever since, two of my favorite desserts are cookies & ice cream and brownies & ice cream. I saw these at the grocery store last week and they are pretty much the same thing:
Second, I wear ponytails a lot and always get tired of the rubberbands stretching and soon are good for nothing. It makes me crazy not to have a tight, snug po-tail that would stay even when I run my daily three miles. I recently discovered these rubberbands and they are awesome! My hair STAYS tight for as long as I need it to. I love these babies:
Finally, Slumdog Millionaire! I loved it, it is the best movie I have seen in a long time. It was not what I was expecting at all and I was totally into it the entire time. It is rated R, there is no bad language, no sex or nudity. There are scenes that were rather difficult to watch due to violence and the cruel way some children were treated in India. I will most definitely be tuning into the Oscars rooting for this movie. Did you see it, what did you think?
What are some of the things you are loving lately?

I won!
I won my second give-a-way from the blog laugh until your cheeks hurt. The blog belongs to a very good family friend and my babysitter when I was very small. She highlights a lot of good products and has lots of fun give a ways. Give her a visit, maybe you will win something fun too. I won a cookbook months ago and a close to my heart calendar this week.
Thanks Alison!
