My sister-in-law called me one morning and told me that some Firefighters would be at a park near them spraying children. I couldn't stop laughing at the thought and was so excited that I could hardly stand it. Oh my, was it ever fun. You could not have been there and not have a smile from ear to ear the whole time. I can't wait to do it again next year. I am dying for the station by our house to come do it for us, I made one attempt to arrange it and failed. I may give it another try. Does anyone in our neighborhood know the firefighters down the street? Can anyone pull some strings? I think it was the funnest, happiest evening of our summer, for kids and adults alike.
We sort of developed a crush on the firemen (come on, who doesn't?) In fact, my mom suggested I take a picture of the back of their shirt and as I was shooting she said, "Jane, I told you to shoot his back, not his rear end!" ha ha ha, she was kidding people!
Hose me DOWN, these pictures are amazing!! The rainbow!
ReplyDeleteThat was too fun - I felt like a little kid.
(And thank you for not posting the, um, wet t-shirt contest.)
When I move to Utah, will you and Dawn promise to call me when this happens again?
ReplyDeleteOk... wait, I got caught up for a moment with the thoughts of hot firemen with hoses, I mean smiles, dancing in my head...
I should have said... If I move to Utah...
Your photos bring back the fun fun fun!! I will always treasure my trophy from the WTC!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I'm impressed! That is one trophy I would love to see.
ReplyDeleteNext time, Jane you will have to call us.

ReplyDeleteThere is one at station 55 named Burt Lemon, He is totally awesome and might be willing to do it for us. I also know another wjfd, that might be able to help to!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that looks like so much fun! I love summer!
ReplyDeleteLooks like an absolute blast. A neighbor of mine has an uncle over at 55. Maybe I could talk to her about doing this.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Who doesn't like spraying kids with water? The look like a Norman Rockwell picture.
ReplyDeleteI love how they created a rainbow! And let the kids hold the hoses! How fun! What nice firemen.
ReplyDeleteI heart firemen too...especially when their name is Paul.
ReplyDeletePlease let me come to this next time!
ReplyDeleteRemember the story of Julie Eagleston's son when he was asked by a fireman what he wanted to be when he grew up and he said, "A woman"?
Oh, Jane!! Thanks for that post!! I double heart firefighters myself! And I LOVED the one you called cute, I laughed and laughed recalling a certain card you sent me in college. Oh, I love you!
