(This memory came to me tonight and
I want to make record of it here.
I don't know if anyone will appreciate it like my sister will)
There was a time when Aileen and I both lived in Provo. We discovered a way to curl our hair using a towel torn into strips. We were both excited to try it, I pictured myself waking up, taking out the towels and I would have the most sexy hair at work. I would be glamorous. I woke up, took out the towels and wanted to cry. I have never seen such tight, kinky, frizzy, BIG hair. A couple of hours into work the phone rang, it was Aileen. She barely got my name out and the rest of the phone call was complete silence because we were laughing so hard we could hardly breathe. We knew EXACTLY what the other was thinking without ever exchanging a single word. We must have looked a lot like these handsome dudes:
Thank you for leaving out the little detail that I'm the idiot who convinced you it would be fabulous.
ReplyDeletePS - As an eye witness to the event, I want everyone to know - Those pictures are pretty darn accurate.
so funny
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm sure you looked just like those men! That is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane!! I haven't laughed that hard at a memory since we left Katie stranded at Taco Bell!
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to seriously do this to my hair when I was young!!! We used torn up "rags" and I looked exactly like that!!
ReplyDeleteThat is funn! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWe have that hair here every day!! It is awesome I am glad someone can sympathize hehe!!
ReplyDeleteYah Jane - Tell about the time you left me at Taco Bell.
ReplyDeleteNice~ I wish you had a picture to share. When I lived in Delaware my mom cut my hair to my chin, permed it and then brushed it out so that I could have an affro like my schoolmates. We will have to compare pictures. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. It brought tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any pictures to share with the class?
