My first attempt at a photo shoot

Yesterday I took some pictures of my cousins two gorgeous girls.

Who doesn't want a girl with red hair and blue eyes? Seriously!

This was my first "real" photoshoot for another family.

I just wanted to share how cute these little dollies are. I love them so!

( **Disclaimer: I do not in any way claim to be a professional. I am not trained and I do not have fancy lenses or other equipment. I hardly know how to use my camera. I am a total amateur and just do this because I think it is fun. Please don't critique my work or compare it to a "real" photographer. I realize I have no idea what I am doing, I am very slowly learning a few things. Hopefully someday . . . )

It is easy to take cute pictures when these are your subjects:

Lovely. You do a great job. What kind of camera do you use? Have you used books/websites to teach yourself? Do you photoshop? Photography is on my post-dissertation hobby wish list and a Nikon D90 is on my post-student-loan-budget wishlist (although I'd settle for a point-and-shoot that works, at this point).

You did such a great job! Thank you for doing this for me! I'm so excited to give these pictures to their grandparents for Xmas! And although they are mine, they are pretty gorgeous! Not biased or anything! Thanks again.

Well, you are a pretty amazing amateur!! good work!!

I second the question, What kind of camera do you have? I am going to be buying one soon, so I am interested in your thoughts.

And, yes, I agree every body does need a picture of a red-headed blue-eyed girl!! :)

Oh, and come to HENDERSON! :)

Yeah the D90 is the one with video. I went to high school with Holly and I love her photography, too. After I get a camera, I want to do one of her workshops. Maybe you and I can do one together next Fall or something.

Way to go Jane! Love your eye, that red head is too cute! I especially love the last two shots of her with the red wall (nice angle you shot) and the horizontal shot of her at the end! Good job...email me if you ever want to "shop talk."
